Do you want to tickle your taste buds with lots of lip-smacking food varieties in your own city? If yes, be ready for the third season of The Great Food Truck Race. Famous food celebrity Tyler Florence will be hosting this culinary road trip soon.

Contrary to the previous seasons, the competition will not be among the current food truck owners this year. This time, there are 8 contending teams, each aspiring to earn fame in food truck business by winning the race. To reach the top, each team will have to show off their best culinary skills.

Each team has three members and is provided with a truck for this race. However, only the winner will get the grand prize of $50,000 cash to start their dream culinary business. The cuisines will range from authentic Aussie grub and specialty waffles to mobile mini-pies; and each team is confident with their ‘road’ strategy as well as their cuisines to embrace the challenge. The race will start at Long Beach, California.

The seven-episode series of the food road race will start airing from August 19th 2012 at 10pm ET/PT; and commencing from the following week, it will be telecast at regular timeslot on Sunday at 9pm ET/PT.

People like food trucks because they can enjoy relatively low cost food; and the entrepreneurs also get an opportunity to enter the culinary world with a bang! The competition is expected to go viral, as the celebrities will be inspiring the prospective food truck owners.

Bob Tuschman, General Manager and Senior Vice President of Food Network said that the sense of competition is high among the teams. Their entrepreneurial spirit, business savvy and culinary skills will be tested on the food truck race.
